Kobudo

We focus on training in the weapons of the Ryukyu namely the bo (staff) as the main weapon, with the smaller sai (dagger), tunfa (truncheon), nunchaku (rice flail), and eku (paddle) as secondary weapons.

This is first bo kata taught within the Shotokan Karate-do Kenkyujo.

Techniques include shomen-uchi, uchi-uke and the characteristic sliding-hand exchange, as well as the 'paddling' multiple strikes to disarm & strike an opponent who defends using bo age-uke.
